Entfaltung is German for unfolding. I begin with the pendulum drawings of Swiss healer-artist Emma Kunz (1892–1963) and unfold them out of the flat page into space and time. What Kunz fixed on graph paper, I set in motion. It is a living drawing, computed in real time. I pre-render nothing, and it never repeats.

The largest drawing in the series. Five vertical axes run down the sheet, each a chain of spindles built from fans of lines between points on the axis, with two shorter axes in between. A horizontal axis crosses at mid-height, small diamond and circle marks repeat on a regular grid, and star figures with concave points are mirrored left and right, each crossed by a long straight line. The plotter drew everything in pen.
