Drawings I made with a pen plotter: a machine that holds pens, ballpoint and pencils to draw lines across paper, executing compositions grown from code. Many unpredictable parameters such as pressure, bleeding inks and the small irregularities of the motor are celebrated and make each drawing impossible to identically reproduce.
Often, I interrupt mid-pass to swap colours and to replace inks. After the plotting passes have completed, I add highlights or fills by hand with pencil.
Drawings contain both geometric and organic elements, which exist on a single continuum.
